Born in Teddington in the UK, Keira Knightley was raised in an acting family. At the age of three, she requested an agent and her parents allowed her to work during the summer holidays. She made her film debut in 1995.
At the age of six she was diagnosed with Dyslexia, but nevertheless was successful in school, and so she was permitted to continue her acting career. Knightley noted that she was single-minded about acting during her childhood. She briefly studied art, history and English Literature at Esher, but left after just a year to focus on her acting again.
In 2010, Keira revealed that she almost gave up on acting back in 2007 because she wasn't enjoying her life in Hollywood. The British beauty's doubts came at a time when she was suffering from exhaustion and badly needed a holiday. The 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' star had worked non-stop from the age of 16 right through to 22 without a break.
Every time she takes on a film role, she goes deep into her part and wants to know everything about her character.
